Feek's Vision Film Showing |   1 PM

Six Shooters Showhall | 120 Main St S, Watford City, ND 

A revealing new documentary about rodeo's most influential bucking horse bloodline. In the 1930s, C.E. “Feek” Tooke foresaw the end to the availability of renegade horses as rodeo stock and envisioned a program for breeding horses with a strong propensity to buck.

Exhibit Hall, McKenzie County Ag Expo
Shop and explore a variety of Western artists and makers, from leatherwork, painting, rope art, hat making, glass artists, pottery and more. Or get outfitted with our western stores and boutiques.

Cowboy Bootcamp & Kid Zone | 5 - 9 PM

Exhibit Hall, McKenzie County Ag Expo
Bring your kiddo to Cowboy Bootcamp where they can dress like a cowboy, rope a steer, saddle a horse, ride the mechanical bull and pick out some fun cowboy gear and treats from the cowboy canteen! 

NDRA Rodeo | 7 PM

Indoor Arena, McKenzie County Ag Expo
Bronc and bareback riding, steer wrestling, breakaway roping, steer roping, barrel racing, bull riding and a boot race for the kids make up this fun night of entertainment
$20 Adults
11 & Under Free

Live Band and Community Dance | 9 PM 

Exhibit Hall, McKenzie County Ag Expo
Listen, tap your toes or get out on the dance floor with renowned western swing band Sam Platts & the Plainsmen. This group has traveled the world with their take on traditional country and western swing music, playing your favorites and some of their own. Cash bar on site.

Birch Bark Biting Demonstration  |  12 Noon 

Exhibit Hall, McKenzie County Ag Expo
Join North Dakota’s Poet Laureate Denise Lajimodiere as she demonstrates the art of birch biting. Birch bark biting is a precontact art done by all tribes in the northern hemisphere where there are birch trees.  The bark is carefully and patiently peeled into layers as thin as onion skin paper. She then folds small pieces of the bark, and bites designs with her eye tooth. There is no end to designs that can be made by folding and refolding and biting designs. Denise bites flowers, turtles and dragonflies.

Another round of bronc and bareback riding, steer wrestling, breakaway roping, steer roping, barrel racing, bull riding and a boot race for the kids make up this fun afternoon of entertainment.

Glass Pendant Class | 3 - 4 PM

Exhibit Hall

Join western North Dakota glass artist Kathy Monti for this unique and fun class where you learn to make your own pendant out of glass!

Cowboy Poetry Gathering  |    4 - 6 PM

Exhibit Hall, McKenzie County Ag Expo
Sit down between rodeos to listen to some of the best storytellers and songsters in the genre! Featuring North Dakota Poet Laureate Denise Lajimodiere, Western Montana Based Cowboy Songster Sam Platts and area favorites Johnathan Odermann, DW Groethe and Jessie Veeder. The afternoon will wrap up with local powowdancers.
